LAST MINUTE LANCELIN TO CERVANTES

The withdrawl syndromes to take the Cruiser out 4wding can some time be painful....but finally the craving was satisfied by going on an adventure trip up to Lancelin and onto Cervantes. It was a last minute decision to make it up there. So my brother in law, my sister, one of their friend and I decided to pack the overnight bags and set off at 7pm on friday to stay at the Lancelin Inn ready for an early start trekking up to Cervantes. We left Lancelin at 7am indian time (more like 8:30) and headed north, since I had abit of past experience of this place, we still manage to get ourself onto the rocky track heading up to Cervantes. It was a like sitting inside a washing machine getting thrown around. But the scenery was rewarding, we crossed path with a herd of kangaroos and an emu with the herd. Scenery which money cant buy and not a soul around to spoil the view.

The trip also got interesting, when we nearly had a head on with a motorbike on the track. I think everyone left skid marks everwhere even in their underpants when the motorbike saw a black bull bar coming towards him and I saw the bike coming towards me. Fortunely, no one got hurt.

After 4 hours (felt like ages) of 4wding we reached the pinnacles, we took pictures of the rocks, rocks with us, us with rocks, rocks which looked like big.... :P and funny pictures of rocks. About an hour or so flaunting with rocks, we decided to head into Cervantes for some lunch at the one and only local pub (nice pub by the way) and decided to head home.

Here are some pics....

Monday 5th of June, 15 or so fourbians gathered at Red Rooster in Green Mount Hill for a day of fun at the Powerlines. So how did we do ? Well.... We started off at Red Rooster, after a few turns to the left and right we were on gravel road and the rigs was in its element...one was left high and dry...few played in the mud...few tested their new mods...and some went home with a smile while others were trying to come up with excuses for the missus as to why the fourby came out second best or why we need new mods to the rigs. We even saw a commodore trying to follow the masses, but when it saw boulders which was as tall as it door handles, it retreated. Anyway here are some pics from the trip. Many thanks to the guys and girls for the cheers when I finally got the fourby up Mount Everest, hope to see you on the next trip.

so... the journey begins...

with my rig, my mate Maya and I...

....and fourbians and their rigs....

...went to the powerlines...

....there were many hills to get up (or down)....

....and plenty of spectators....

...and lots of terrain to tame or shall I say terrain tamers...

...some simply got tamed by the terrain....

...we even saw a "common-ore" trying to tame the terrain...

....after many difficult obstacles (some with chicken tracks).....

...most of us went to the mud pools and came out smiling (or shall I say muddy)...
